Enhancing Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Professional Development

Whether you are newly graduated from your masters degree program or further along in your career, Linda has experience providing clinical supervision to emerging therapists in the field. She is flexible in her fees to best support clinicians who desire to further their clinical skills and enhance their knowledge. Her area of expertise with supervision includes substance use, attachment, the therapeutic relationship in session, coaching in CBT and ACT interventions, and developing quality psycho-social clinical formulations.

As an LCSW with years of supervision experience, Linda is able to supervise for licensure. Call to discuss the details of your specific licensure requirements.

Theory and Style

Some clinicians get very uncomfortable when asked about theory or to identify specific interventions they are utilizing. Some clinicians may be unsure of what theory they are drawn to or where to gain more training. I assist developing social workers and therapists in discovering their professional style and practice. Whether that includes Narrative therapy, CBT, ACT, person centered, solution focused, feminist approaches or some blend of them all, one can increase competency and confidence in knowing that you are providing evidenced-based interventions that are thoughtfully developed based on a sound clinical formulation.

Case Consultation

Even after I was fully licensed I continued regular supervision as I believe it is unwise to operate in a vacuum. I still reach out to others to consult on cases when needed. It is a valuable skill to know when to get additional perspectives and to challenge our own. There are multiple ways to respond to different presenting problems and just as we would challenge our clients to consider alternative approaches to their traditional view, we must also challenge our initial judgements or assumptions. Clinical supervision is a setting for safe exploration of multiple perspectives and approaches to challenging cases.

Ethical, Legal, Clinical

Whether you are working with clients in a clinic, private office, telehealth or in home sessions, challenging ethical, legal and clinical questions can arise. Unfortunately there is not always an easy clear cut answer. “Standard of Care” is also not concretely defined. But it’s also not as complicated as we sometimes make it. We will work together to increase clinical and legal knowledge as well as increase confidence in responding to the ethical considerations that arise.
