CBT

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on identifying thoughts, feelings and behaviors and noticing the interplay between them. Sometimes it can be helpful to identify the cognitive distortion that drives some of our thinking. We can learn to challenge this and open our thinking up to new perspectives, realizing what is, and free ourselves from thinking that keeps us stuck.

ACT

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) invites us to increase awareness through mindfulness, identify our chosen values that we want to live by, practice acceptance when needed and take committed action toward our values. We can learn what gets us stuck in this process and how to get unstuck. It’s important to recognize what is working for us and how to change those those things that are no longer working.

MI

Motivational Interviewing (MI) allows us to work with your readiness for change. Have you ever had someone force a goal on you that wasn’t really something you wanted? It probably didn’t work very well. MI allows us to recognize your motivation and readiness for change, assisting you with reasonable goals that are measurable and achievable. We look closely at the consequences of our choices and the trajectory moving forward.
